Zóna 51 (Nevada)
Area 51 (dosl. Oblasť 51), známa aj ako Dreamland, Watertown, The Ranch, Paradise Ranch, The Farm, The Box, Groom Lake a The Directorate for Development Plans Area je odľahlý úsek zeme na dne vyschnutého jazera na juhu Nevady, ktorý je vo vlastníctve vlády Spojených štátov, a na ktorom sa nachádza vojenské letisko, pravdepodobne používané na tajný vývoj a testovanie prototypov nových vojenských lietadiel. Na letisku prebiehal vývoj mnohých prísne utajovaných strojov ako Lockheed U-2 alebo Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird.
Býva obľúbeným predmetom mnohých konšpiračných teórií o UFO.
Poloha
Area 51 sa nachádza medzi regiónom Yucca Flats a Nevada Test Site (NTS) - územím kde sa testujú nukleárne zbrane Amerického úradu jadrovej energie. Jadrový sklad Yucca Mountain je asi 64 kilometrov juhozápadne od Groom Lake.
Oblasť je pripojená k sieti ciest NTS vedúcimi na severozápad do Mercury a na juh do Yucca Flats. Severovýchodne od jazera vedie cesta Groom Lake, ktorá bola skôr využívaná ako prístupová cesta k baniam v nížine Groom. Po celej jej šírke sa nachádza niekoľko kontrolných stanovíšť, oblasť v nížine však leží východnejšie a preto sú neoprávnení návštevníci, ktorí po ceste Groom Lake cestujú, spozorovaní obvykle jednotkami v horách ešte niekoľko kilometrov pred kontrolnými stanicami. Potom, čo cesta opustí zakázanú oblasť (radu varovných značiek typu Photography is prohibited - Fotografovanie zakázané, poprípade Use of deadly force is authorized - Použitie smrtiacej sily povolené), klesá východne do oblasti Tikaboo Valley a potom sa napojuje na Nevada State Route 375.

Ufológovia sa pritom domnievajú, že úrady v oblasti ukrývajú pozostatky mimozemšťana. Na oficiálnych mapách je miesto zakreslené iba ako vyťažená baňa, ale napríklad na Google Maps nie je znázornené vôbec.
Nové zverejnené dokumenty obsahujú mapu vojenského komplexu, ktorý leží približne 200 kilometrov severozápadne od Las Vegas, na okraji vyschnutého soľného jazera. Z podkladov vyplýva, že komplex bol využívaný na menej strhujúce účely ako pochovávanie ufóncov - teda predovšetkým na testovanie špionážnych zariadení. Dokumenty takisto odhaľujú, že areál vznikol ako súčasť testovacieho komplexu amerického úradu pre atómovú energiu.
Kde je mimozemšťan z Roswellu?
Ufológovia sú však presvedčení, že Zóna 51 stále skrýva napríklad pozostatky mimozemšťana z lietajúceho taniera, ktorý sa mal v roku 1947 zrútiť v blízkosti mestečka Roswell. Na túto tému bolo napísaných veľa kníh a natočených veľa filmov, vrátane snímky Deň nezávislosti z roku 1996. Písal o nej aj týždenník PLUS 7 DNÍ.
